Lee "Scratch" Perry made the world more colorful and enchanting—surreal and magical! Having the chance to spend time with him and make music was one of the most joyful experiences of my life. I met Lee Scratch Perry in 2017 at his studio in Einsiedeln, nestled in the mountains of Switzerland, for a jam session. During an interview conducted by Lukasz Polowczyk, Lee and I had the beautiful idea of recording Echoes in the Mountains. But first, I wanted to get to know him and record with him. That encounter with Perry changed my life.

In the following days, as I listened to the recordings repeatedly, I struggled with how they could be shaped into an album or EP. I worked tirelessly to find a direction but eventually set the project aside. After some time, during my walks and field recording sessions, I revisited the jam session recordings. I began layering field recordings and new musical ideas, and everything started to fall into place. By creating a sonic map of my hikes with the field recordings, I was able to connect each track to a specific place, which provided the clear vision for the album Daydreamflix.
